Aspect ratio
Aspect ratio is the proportion between an image's width and height — for example 1:1 (square), 3:4 (portrait) or 2:3.
Fashion images are usually portrait, because a standing person is taller than wide. But each platform crops differently: eBay recommends square or 16:9, Zalando uses 1:1.44 (ideally 1801 × 2600 px).
Shooting or generating at one ratio and cropping to another can cut off feet or heads, so it pays to know the target before producing images.
