Pure white background

A pure white background is one where every background pixel is exactly white — RGB 255, 255, 255 or #FFFFFF — as many marketplaces require for main product images.

Also called: RGB 255 · #FFFFFF background

‘Looks white’ is not the same as pure white: a slightly grey studio sweep shows up as a grey box on a white product page. Retouchers lift the background to exactly 255 and keep the product edges clean.

Amazon asks for pure white main images; Zalando uses #FFFFFF for packshots but prefers light grey or beige for on-model images.
