Retouching
Retouching is the editing of a photograph after it is taken: cleaning skin and fabric, correcting colour, removing dust, creases and distractions.
Also called: post-production · photo retouching
Fashion retouching ranges from basic — colour match to the real garment, background clean-up — to high-end work on skin, hair and fabric texture for campaigns. It is often priced per image and quoted in days.
With AI images, retouching also means fixing what generation gets wrong: hands, small details and colour drift.
