Editorial photography
Editorial fashion photography tells a story with clothes — a location, a mood, a character — rather than simply documenting the product.
The term comes from magazines, where fashion appears in styled stories. Brands use editorial images on homepages, in campaigns and on social media, where atmosphere sells as much as detail.
Editorial shoots are the most expensive kind: location, crew, casting, travel and retouching. That is why smaller brands often have product photos but no campaign.
